Just checking in to update you on my latest. Life is slowing down it seems. The election is over, the holidays are coming, and the art studio is mellow and comforting amidst it all. In addition to painting, I had the chance to help out with a new video by Sam Lapides & the Rotten Liars - read about my filming days in 110 degree heat!

Pile of New Paintings - Coming Soon

Through it all, I continue to paint. I'm stacking up a pile of new work as shown above. I've been posting these on my instagram account if you'd like to see some close-ups. You do need an instagram account to view these on instagram. I will be presenting them all together in my own online show coming up. I am involved in some other online covid-style shows and will alert you when they are opening.

Sample for Echo Park Bus Shelter

Here's an old one but a good one. Above is the sample I did for a bus shelter in Echo Park in Los Angeles. Right in the middle of one of my favorite LA neighborhoods (Echo Park), you'll find a bus stop with my art. It's made out of porcelain enamel on aluminum and it still looks great after many years. The materials have great anti-graffiti properties so any paint-over damage can be easily removed. Also, little known fact, graffiti artists, even gang graffiti artists, generally do not tag art which I really appreciate.

I received a grant from the City of Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Department, to complete this. If you're in LA and want to get a look at the real thing, go to the corner of Sunset and Echo Park Ave. It is close to the corner on the north side of Sunset right in front of the Walgreen's.

Lucky Strike video by Sam Lapides
I was lucky enough to help on filming day for the "Lucky Strike" video by Sam Lapides and the Rotten Liars. Julie Fergus shot, directed, acted, and of course sang on this song. Please click here to watch the whole video. There's some really beautiful desert imagery. We were in Desert Shores, CA which is on the Salton Sea near Palm Springs. It was, and I am not kidding, 110 degrees that day. Everything in the desert is slowed down and strange, even more so in the oppressive heat. The town of Desert Shores is well, deserted, as you can see in the video, but some people still live there in their secret hideaway far from the rest of the world. Anyhow, it was super fun to watch Sam and Julie sing along in the still and forgotten landscape.
